Cheering Facts of Year 2002

  • Uterine Thermachoice Thermal balloon therapy- for DUB : We have done about 100 successful cases particularly in patients who are unfit for surgeries and are perimenopausal. We are the leading center in Gujarat offering this service. Very few centers in India are doing it. Uterine thermal balloon is a total non operative treatment for DUB patients who are more than 30 yrs old, finished childbearing but do not require hysterectomy (as hysterectomy at younger age gives problems of premature menopause & HRT)

  • Apart from routine diagnostic Hystero-laproscopies ( 450 in this yr ) we have done 120 operative laproscopies in this year.

  • We held workshops every 3 months giving training of IUI, Transvaginal Sonography, IVF-ET, Endoscopy & ICSI . 15 delegates trained in this year.

  • A total of 185 infertility cases dealt with.

    • Fabulous success in 60 cases. ( 32% of total cases )

    • Total Abortions : 5  ( 8% )

    • Ectopic Pregnancy : 1

    • Total Pregnant : 55

    • Single : 39

    • Twins : 10

    • Triplets : 5

    • Quadruplets : 1

    • Embryo reduction done on all triplets and quadruplets.

  • 250 IUI- (Intra uterine insemination with washed sperms) Pregnancies in year 2002.

  • Our 8 bedded ICCU is fully equipped with central monitoring, NIBP & infusion pump, ECG, Stress test, 2-D echocardiography (200 in this yr alone) has catered 60 patients with serious illness and myocardial infraction in 2002, no casualty reported.

  • We have started HIV-AIDs prevention and treatment cell this year. Three patients emergency pacemaker was put to save life for which they had otherwise to go to Mumbai. Dr. Anant Agrawal is trained from National Hinduja Hospital Mumbai.

  • NICU has treated more than 60 neonatals in year 2002 with only one casualty. 7 exchange transfusions done with 100% success.

  • Microscopic Tubotubal Anastomosis – 10 cases in year 2002, 4 are pregnant

  • Microepididimal Sperm Aspiration / PESA (this year 20 cases done – 7 became pregnant)

  • The results of superovulation IUI - 1800 Cycles done last 2 years out of which 660 patients are pregnant giving it a 36.8% value, 30 twins & 6 triplets. Our center has one of the highest results as far as IUI Rx is concerned.

  • A total of 850 IVF and ICSI operations have been conducted. 150 have delivered out of which 20 are twins, 4 are triplets, 20 pregnancies to menopausal women, 15 pregnancies with frozen thawed embryos, 10 embryo reductions done successfully.

  • 21st Century hospital runs a menopausal club on every Friday, which is for women over 35 offering preventive medicine for women in perimenopausal & menopausal group giving mammography, Pap smears, blood assays, prevention of cancers, osteoporosis and Coronary artery disease. Regular HRT is given here.

  • 21st Century hospital is about to finish 3 years with a good track record.

  • The centre is the most successful rural ivf centre of India with consistent good results.
     
  • Successfully executed three state level and national level conferences in May 2000, 2001 and 2002 with involvement of 55, 235 and 125 delegates respectively. The conferences were on the subjects of " Endoscopy and ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) "
     
  • Our both hospitals are recognized by FOGSI (Federation of Gyn. Obs Society of India) as a centre of excellence to give infertility training to upcoming Gynecologists.
     
  • We conduct workshops every 3-4 months on IUI hands on, TVS and ABDOMINAL USG, IVF - ET, ICSI, Gynaec operative endoscopy where stalwards like Dr. Prashant Mangeshikar, Dr. Rakesh Sinha, Dr. Sanjay Patel, Dr. Praful Kotadwala and other reputed ones come, operate and teach. Last one was conducted on 15th,16th, 17th November, the Next is on 2nd, 3rd, 4th March 2003. We have over last 3 years conducted 3 successful National & state level conferences & workshops on Endoscopy & ART appreciated by all who participated them.
     
  • Cheering Facts: ( 6 ICSI Patients delivered who took Rx from our centre )
    • Sushila R in USA - A 45 years old lady delivered a baby girl after 18 years of marriage. It was our first blastocyst delivery.
    • Amritsar ( Sonia ): Treatment was related to TESA with ICSI male factor infertility, delivered a healthy baby girl.
    • A lady with blocked tube, in Surat delivered a baby boy after 19 yrs of marriage.
    • 40 years old lady having unexplained infertility, in Surat delivered a baby boy.
    • Menopausal lady of 50 years delivered a baby boy after 35 years of marriage.
    • Delivery in  case of 28 yr old Polycystic ovary patient with male factor ( low sperm count ) treatments.
